Dominic’s notable acting roles include playing Victor Buono in Ryan Murphy’s multi-Emmy nominated series, ‘FEUD’, for which he received critical acclaim (“played with uncanny precision by Dominic Burgess – ‘THE HOLLYWOOD REPORTER’’), Psycho Pete in ‘IT’S ALWAYS SUNNY IN PHILADELPHIA’ and as supervillain Kilg%re on ‘THE FLASH’. Other TV credits include, ‘AMERICAN HORROR STORY’, ‘THE LEFTOVERS’, ‘QUEEN OF THE SOUTH’, ‘AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D’, ‘RAISING HOPE’, ‘ROOTS’, ‘2 BROKE GIRLS’. Dominic currently recurs on ‘THE GOOD PLACE’ as Chidi’s well meaning, injury prone “boot-brother”, Henry, and as the all powerful Ram-God, Ember in SyFy’s hit show, ‘THE MAGICIANS’, in which Dominic is immersed in six hours of prosthetic make-up and... hooves.
Dominic Burgess was born in 1982, in Stoke-on-Trent, England (Just like the Captain of the R.M.S. TITANIC, fact fans). He developed a penchant for performing after playing Biff in a High School production of ‘DEATH OF A SALESMAN’. He was awarded a scholarship to the prestigious Academy of Live and Recorded Arts (ALRA) in London, where he studied acting for three years. Public productions included ‘TWELFTH NIGHT’ (As Malvolio), ‘THE END OF THE FOOD CHAIN’ (As Robbo) and ‘THEY SHOOT HORSES, DON’T THEY?’ (As Rocky Gravo).
Dominic’s first television role upon graduating was the BBC’s award winning Sci-Fi behemoth, ‘DOCTOR WHO’, where he met a grisly fate at the hand of the Daleks. (Dominic’s Doctor will always be Sylvester McCoy)
Dominic arrived in Los Angeles, just a suitcase and his laptop in hand in January 2008, just in time for the Writer’s Strike… He didn’t know anyone in Los Angeles and subsequently has many stories to tell you about living situations he found himself in through Craigslist.
Next, Dominic can be seen alongside Timothy Olyphant and Drew Barrymore in the upcoming third season of Netflix’s ‘SANTA CLARITA DIET’ and alongside Octavia Spencer, Juliette Lewis and Luke Evans in the Blumhouse horror/thriller, ‘MA’, directed by Tate Taylor (‘THE HELP’, ‘THE GIRL ON THE TRAIN’).
As a writer/filmmaker, Dominic’s directorial short debut, ‘SAM DID IT’ (starring Alfred Molina as himself) played the festival circuit in 2018, picking up numerous awards and qualifying for BAFTA consideration. His WWII feature drama ‘PRODUCTS OF WAR’ won the pitch-fest competition at 2018’s Nashville International Film Festival, and his outrageous buddy-comedy feature ‘RING GOES SOUTH’ is currently trending on The Blacklist.
In 2018, Dominic was selected for Ryan Murphy’s Director Mentorship Program, the HALF INITIATIVE.
An avid lover of nature, Dominic is interested in ways to get involved in wildlife preservation, and as of going to press, he is a proud cat parent to five rescued felines (Frodo, Pippin, Ripley, Blink and Nub-Nub)… but there’s every possibility there might be more now… so many more…
